Kay Rupprecht, LL.M., has been working as a German Patent Attorney and as a European Patent Attorney for more than 30 years, with experience in all fields of intellectual property law, i.e. in trade mark law, design law and, in particular, patent and utility model law. These many years of experience serve as a broad basis for his continuous participation in the firm's specific "competence teams", within which infringement proceedings and nullity and cancellation proceedings are mostly successfully conducted. Kay Rupprecht is also authorized to handle patent applications and patents that constitute a state secret, i.e. he is allowed to process so-called "secret applications".
As a long-standing honorary judge of the Chamber for Patent Attorney cases at the Munich District Court and then in the next higher instance, the Senate for Patent Attorney Cases at the Munich Higher Regional Court, Kay Rupprecht sometimes sits on the other side of the bench. For almost two decades, he has also devoted himself to the training of Patent Attorneys as a tutor and, in the meantime, as head of the working group of Patent Attorney candidates in Munich. In this respect, he always keeps his expertise up to date with developments.
As a UPC enthusiast, Kay Rupprecht also enjoys being a member of the board and secretary of the European Patent Litigators Association ("EPLIT") as well as chairing the working group on "procedural costs" there.
